Psychotherapy

As a Licensed Marriage and Family therapist, a central theme in my work is relationships - relationships with family, friends, colleagues and your relationship with yourself and your life. In order for these relationships to be satisfying, it is necessary to be clear about what you truly want and need, and to have the skills to have these met by yourself, others, and the environment.

I assist my clients in the gaining the clarity they need to discover the truth within themselves - of what they feel, think, need, their inherent gifts and talents, their core challenges and dilemmas. At times, we will focus on processing what feels unfinished from the past and releasing what keeps you attached to those memories and patterns. Other times, we will focus on the present and developing more satisfying ways of coping, relating, and achieving your goals.

I offer you an atmosphere of compassion, understanding, and curiosity, as well as help you create it for yourself. This helps make the healing process more satisfyling and effective. It becomes a path of learning, discovery, wisdom, and joy. I aim to create a momentum of learning and growth that continues long after the completion of therapy.

My training has been both in classical counseling styles - Gestalt, self-psychology, and object-relations - as well as body-centered, existential, and transpersonal. I enjoy working with clients with a true motivation to change and move forward. My style of work is not just about our time together, but even more so of what you do with what you learn after you leave my office.
